Wing Shooting

Fly to Johannesburg International Airport, be met by an experienced Wing Shooting Guide and travel to the wide open spaces in the heart of South Africa. To ensure that you get the best of our birds, we only hunt during the peak wing shooting periods of April, May and June.

A typical Wing Shooting Safari could progress as follows:

  1. Shoot Rock Pigeons, Water Fowl and Guinea Fowl in the Free State (2 days)
  2. 1 Day road tour from Free State to Eastern Cape
  3. Shoot Grey wing Francolin in the Eastern Cape (2 days)
  4. 1 Day road tour Eastern Cape to Western Cape
  5. Visit world renowned Wine Estate.
  6. Shoot Cape Francolin, Guinea Fowl and Quail in Western Cape  (1½ days)
  7. Shoot Water Fowl (½ day)

Other Species of game birds that could be bagged:

Egyptian Geese, Spur Wing Geese, Yellow Billed Duck, Red Billed Teal, Swanson’s Francolin, Orange River Francolin, Red Eye Dove, Cape Turtle Dove, Laughing Dove, Grey Wing Francolin.

A wing Shooting Safari will be all inclusive i.e. accommodation, meals and refreshments, Professional Wing Shooting Guide, vehicles, retriever dogs and dog handlers. Ammunition for most calibers of shotguns can be purchased locally.  A minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 wing shooters are required for a Wing shooting Safari.
