2010 Contract Terms and Conditions

1.    Daily Rates

1.1.    Daily rates are charged as follows (All amounts are quoted in United States Dollars (US$), unless specifically stated otherwise):
1.1.1.    One hunting client accompanied by one professional hunter per day per hunter;
1.1.2.    Two hunting clients accompanied by one professional hunter per day per hunter;
1.1.3.    Each non-hunting observer per day per observer;
1.2.    Daily Rates are specified in the final quote and booking and confirmation.

2.    Daily Rates are inclusive of the following:

2.1.    Accommodation;
2.2.    Meals, soft drinks, bottled water and a limited quantity of wine or beer with supper.
2.3.    The service of a professional hunter/guide and the use of a hunting vehicle for hunting and game recovery purposes only.
2.4.    Trackers, skinners and the necessary field staff to hunt or recover game.
2.5.    General hunting licenses and permits.
2.6.    Field preparation of trophies, i.e. caping, salting etc.
2.7.    Meeting clients at a pre-arranged venue.
2.8.    Daily laundry services where possible.

3.    Daily rates exclude:

3.1.    Trophy fees (refer to current Price List);
3.2.    Special Hunting licenses and permits as required (CITES etc.) (Estimated costs will be included in final detailed quote and booking confirmation where applicable);
3.3.    VAT at 14% of Daily Rates for hunting in South Africa;
3.4.    Accommodation and travel charges before and after contracted period of the Safari;
3.5.    Alcoholic beverages.  (A wide selection of beer, wine and spirits are available at cost).
3.6.    Hire of rifle/s and ammunition. (available at nominal fee if pre arranged);
3.7.    Packing, dipping, taxidermy and documentation and exportation of trophies from Africa;
3.8.    Firearms import/export permits (usually facilitated at no charge);
3.9.    All additional costs due to the client’s change of plans during the safari;
3.10.    All air charters and transfers to, from and between hunting camps and point of arrival or departure.

4.    Payment

4.1.    All amounts are quoted in United States Dollars (US$), unless specifically stated otherwise.
4.2.    Minimum hunting period is seven (7) days or the equivalent cost thereof.
4.3.    A deposit equal 50% of the Daily Rates and Game Package or 50% of the Special Package Price total is required in order to secure and confirm a reservation.  Reservations will be confirmed in writing and accompanied by a fixed quote.
4.4.    The balance of the daily rates and trophy fees are payable on completion of the hunt before departure.
4.5.    All other charges and fees are payable on the date of termination of the safari.  If the safari is cancelled, more than 180 (one hundred and eighty) days prior to the agreed commencement date, the deposit, less expenses incurred, will be refunded.
4.6.    If cancelled within 180 (one hundred and eighty) days from the date of commencement, no refund will be paid back except when booking can be shifted to an alternative date in the same hunting season.  (A substitute hunter may be acceptable).
4.7.    Payment should be made by in cash in US$ currency, US$ International Money Order or US$ Travellers Cheques.
4.8.    Animals wounded and lost are for the account of the client.  Please rest assured that every possible effort will be made to recover a wounded animal as soon as possible.
4.9.    All safaris are subject to available quotas at the time of booking and early payments will receive priority.
4.10.    Clients will be required to complete a questionnaire outlining travel arrangements, dietary preferences, etc. and return it to Hunt Africa, together with a travel itinerary, at least 30 days prior to the commencement date.
4.11.    Prices as quoted are based on current exchange rates and are subject to errors and omissions.  Although every effort will be made to keep prices fixed it may be necessary to make minor adjustments as a result of unforeseen excessive exchange rate fluctuations.

5.    Liability

5.1.    Whilst every effort is made by Hunt Africa Safaris and the professional hunter/s or guide to ensure the safety of the client, no responsibility can be accepted for any illness, accident, injury or loss whatsoever suffered by the client whilst on safari with Hunt Africa, or any expenses arising from such illness, accident, injury or loss.
5.2.     Clients are responsible for their own individual health, travel, trip interruption and cancellation insurance’s and should contact their insurance broker or travel agent for quotations on available packages.
5.3.    Furthermore, Hunt Africa Safaris or the Professional Hunter will not accept any responsibility for trophies after its proper field preparation or personal goods left behind in camps, aircraft or vehicles.
5.4.    The client certifies that he/she is in good health and that he/she has no physical limitations, which would preclude his/her safe participation in the safari or associated activities.
5.5.    The client furthermore certifies that he/she has full knowledge of the nature and extent and of the risk inherent in the participation in hunting safari activities and the rugged and harsh areas in which such activities often take place and that he/she is voluntarily assuming such risks.
5.6.    It is agreed by both Hunt Africa Safaris/Professional Hunter/Guide and the client that this agreement shall be governed, interpreted and enforced pursuant to the Laws of the Country, State, Province and locality in which the Safari takes place.
5.7.    If any person refuses to abide by the rules and regulations laid down by Hunt Africa Safaris, the safari may be cancelled at any time.

6.    Healthcare

6.1.    At present, compulsory vaccinations are generally not required for entry into Africa.
6.2.    We do however strongly recommend that all clients start a recognised preventative course for malaria before arrival and continue after leaving the country, if hunting should take place in areas where Malaria is endemic.
6.3.    Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus vaccinations could also be considered.  Please consult your regular Physician or a recognised Travel Clinic.

7.    Value Added Tax

7.1.    Daily rates and trophy fees quoted are inclusive of any and all taxes (value added tax, general sales tax etc.) imposed by the governing authority of the relevant area in which the hunt takes place.
7.2.    Taxidermy fees quoted are generally exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) in view of the fact that trophies destined for exportation by foreign clients do not attract VAT.
7.3.    Daily Rates (not trophy fees) for hunts conducted in South Africa are subject to 14% Value Added Tax.
